Jurassic World has made $82.9 million dollars on Friday domestically, gifting it the 3rd highest grossing opening day in history domestically. Giving it a new weekend projection of between $181-$200 million. This will make Jurassic World either have the second or third highest grossing weekend in history domestically, definitely beating out Iron Man 3’s $174.1 million and possibly Avengers: Age of Ultron’s $191.3 million. Jurassic Worlds haul will also make it the biggest June opening ever, beating out Man of Steel $128.7 million.
Jurassic World is set to make north of $400 million worldwide for the weekend.
Given that Jurassic World was projecting earlier in the week for a $100-120 million dollar opening and that the film cost $150 million to make this is great news for Universal.
Have you seen Jurassic World yet? What did you think of it? Do you think it can crack a billion at the box office? Let me know.
