ROCKET LEAGUE REVIEW!!!!

After spending a considerable amount of time playing Rocket League I feel I can safely give my thoughts on the game and its awesome.

The game is basically soccer but with cars and that’s really all the premise is. It’s so simple but it works, the game has no story as you would expect but it does have a season mode, which is fun, but shallow. Season mode isn’t online but rather versus bots, which is a bummer because an online season mode would be awesome but versing bots is a good way to learn the game before you jump into online where the real fun is to be had.

Online is where Rocket League shines, with 4 different game types, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4. 1v1 is where the real skill is to be had because everything that happens is your fault, compared to how 3v3 and 4v4 aren’t so much your fault. 4v4 is a lot of fun and my personal favourite because it is just carnage and I love it. The servers were quite good when I was playing but some people have had problems with them so beware.

The cars in Rocket League run on all the same engines, so it’s an equal playing field which I really like but you can change the cosmetics of the car likes its body and such which can give a little edge. You unlock these by playing games, pretty standard stuff.

Although the game on the surface looks shallow, just hit the ball and hope for the best the game really isn’t that, its pretty deep, from having to manage your boost and pick your spots when to use it, where to hit the ball and to utilize every bit of your car the game really surprised me with its depth. Its worth learning the game, because it is extremely satisfying bicycle kicking the ball into the goal or getting a cross field goal.

The trophy list is pretty standard, nothing to different and very easy, but grindy. The menus are easy to navigate and the graphics are great.

Rocket League is a ton of fun, its deep adrenaline filled carnage and everyone should experience it.

4/5
